Lead Sheetfed Offset Pressman

Location: In Person

Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday
Pay: $24.00–$35.00 per hour (based on experience)

Position Summary

Rowland Printing is seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Sheetfed Offset Pressman to oversee daily press operations and produce high-quality commercial print work efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of sheetfed offset printing, color management, press maintenance, and production workflow.

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining our Shinohara 44IV 26” sheetfed offset press while ensuring jobs are completed according to customer specifications, production schedules, and quality standards. The Lead Pressman will also assist with training, workflow coordination, troubleshooting, and maintaining a clean and safe pressroom environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain Shinohara 44IV 26” sheetfed offset printing press
  • Review and follow job tickets and production specifications
  • Achieve and maintain color consistency and print quality throughout press runs
  • Perform press setup, make-readies, adjustments, and preventative maintenance
  • Monitor print quality, registration, ink densities, and finishing requirements
  • Troubleshoot press and production issues to minimize downtime
  • Coordinate workflow and priorities with production management
  • Maintain accurate production records and job documentation
  • Ensure pressroom cleanliness, organization, and safety standards are maintained

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequently lift, move, and handle materials up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach regularly
  • Manual dexterity required for operating press controls, tools, and equipment
  • Ability to work in a production environment with exposure to ink, solvents, paper dust, noise, and moving machinery
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions and maintain focus during long production runs
  • Ability to safely operate equipment while following all company safety procedures

Additional Equipment & Responsibilities

Experience operating the following equipment is preferred:

  • 2-Color Shinohara Press
  • 2-Color Hamada Press
  • 2-Color Ryobi Press
  • Polar Cutter
  • Plate burning and plate preparation equipment

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–4 years of sheetfed offset press experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of color management and print quality standards
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specifications
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Education Required
